WOMEN’S RIGHTS AND LEGAL MANAGEMENT IN INDIA
Abstract
Abstract - Women’s rights and legal protection in India have evolved significantly over time, moving from a traditional patriarchal framework toward a more rights-based and equality-driven legal system. The Constitution of India guarantees equal rights to women, and various legislative measures have been introduced to safeguard their dignity, safety, and empowerment. Despite strong legal provisions, challenges such as gender-based violence, discrimination, and lack of awareness continue to hinder full realization of these rights. This paper examines constitutional safeguards, major laws, challenges, and the effectiveness of legal protection mechanisms for women in India.
Keywords: Women’s rights, gender equality, constitutional rights, legal protection, India.
