Abstract

Abstract - Climate change is one of the most significant environmental challenges facing the world today, with profound impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem stability. Rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, melting glaciers, sea-level rise, ocean acidification, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events are altering natural habitats and threatening the survival of numerous plant and animal species. Biodiversity, which encompasses the variety of life on Earth, is essential for maintaining ecological balance, supporting ecosystem services, and ensuring sustainable development. Climate change disrupts species distribution, breeding cycles, migration patterns, and ecosystem functions, increasing the risk of extinction for many organisms. Scientific research and technological innovations play a crucial role in understanding these impacts and developing effective conservation strategies. This paper examines the concept of climate change and biodiversity, explores the major impacts of climate change on biodiversity, discusses mitigation and adaptation strategies, highlights global conservation efforts, and outlines future prospects for protecting biodiversity in a changing climate.
