DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
Abstract
Abstract - Digital technologies have transformed English Language Teaching (ELT) by making learning more interactive, accessible, personalized, and collaborative. The integration of computers, the internet, mobile applications, learning management systems, artificial intelligence, virtual classrooms, and multimedia resources has significantly changed the way English is taught and learned. Digital tools support the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while promoting learner autonomy and global communication. Online learning platforms, educational videos, podcasts, interactive quizzes, and AI-powered language applications provide learners with opportunities for continuous practice beyond the traditional classroom. However, challenges such as the digital divide, inadequate infrastructure, teacher training, and unequal access to technology continue to affect effective implementation. This paper examines the role of digital technologies in English Language Teaching, major tools and applications, benefits, challenges, and future prospects in the twenty-first century.
