DC–DC CONVERTERS: DESIGN AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Abstract
Abstract - DC–DC converters are essential power electronic devices that efficiently convert one level of direct current (DC) voltage to another while maintaining high efficiency, voltage regulation, and reliable operation. They are widely employed in renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, battery management systems, telecommunications, aerospace, industrial automation, medical equipment, and consumer electronics. Advances in semiconductor devices, digital control techniques, high-frequency switching, and intelligent power management have significantly improved the performance, power density, and efficiency of modern DC–DC converters. Converter topologies such as Buck, Boost, Buck–Boost, Ćuk, SEPIC, Flyback, Forward, Push–Pull, Half-Bridge, and Full-Bridge converters are selected according to application requirements. This paper discusses the principles, design considerations, types, operating modes, industrial applications, advantages, challenges, and future developments of DC–DC converters in modern power electronic systems.
