SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS: DESIGN, PERFORMANCE, AND APPLICATIONS
Abstract
Abstract - Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have emerged as one of the most promising renewable energy technologies for sustainable electricity generation. By directly converting sunlight into electrical energy through the photovoltaic effect, PV systems offer a clean, reliable, and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fossil-fuel-based power generation. Advances in semiconductor materials, power electronics, energy storage systems, and smart grid integration have significantly improved the efficiency, reliability, and affordability of solar PV technology. The growing demand for clean energy, coupled with supportive government policies and declining installation costs, has accelerated the widespread adoption of photovoltaic systems in residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications. This paper examines the design principles, performance characteristics, components, applications, advantages, challenges, and future prospects of solar photovoltaic systems. It also highlights the role of PV technology in achieving global energy security and sustainable development.
